Hello, I'm IcedCoffeeVoyager (or DeusTex on other platforms) and I'm a 42-year-old dude from Dallas, Texas. I have a day job as a Service Delivery Manager, but my true passions are my creative hobbies, which keep me busy in my free time. I'm a little bit of a creative jack-of-all-trades: a coder, a writer, a web designer, a cook, and an electronic music producer. I'm basically a massive nerd, so chances are if it has spaceships, lasers, flying people in tights, aliens, or robots, I'm probably into it. I am happily married to the best part of my life, my incredible wife. We have 2 wonderful dogs together. We're actually moving to Minneapolis, Minnesota this fall. The dogs are less thrilled than we are.

I maintain a blog when I feel the urge to write, and I'm currently working on a couple of indie games that I hope to release someday. These are all just passion projects, but they're things I really love doing.

I'm a huge advocate for online privacy, so most of my work happens in non-Windows environments. Yes, I realize the irony of my site's aesthetic, shut up. You'll find me on a laptop running Linux or my MacBook Pro. I also have a near-obsession with being de-Googled, with YouTube being the only exception. You best believe I am loaded up with ad and cookie blockers. The indie games I'm working on are retro-styled 8-bit games created with Pico-8 and GBStudio, and my synthesizers are analogue. For graphic and web design, I have a fondness for what the whipper snappers call "Frutiger Aero." I prefer to think of it more like "Donkey Kong Country Core." Interior design is more about Mid-Centry Modern, which is also an intrerest of my wife. That makes choosing furniture pretty easy for us both, we agree a lot.

I'm a huge Star Trek fan, especially The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, Voyager, and Strange New Worlds. My favorite movie is a tie between First Contact and The Wrath of Khan. I also love Firefly, Star Wars, the MCU, James Gunn's new DCU, and a great 90s show called The Pretender.

I enjoy reading science fiction novels and comic books. Some of my favorites are Foundation by Isaac Asimov, Dune by Frank Herbert, Ender's Game by don't worry about it he's homophobic af (only buy used copies of this one.) I also enjoy Daredevil, Ghost Rider, Punisher, Batman, Superman, and Aquaman comics. Okay, I'm also really into Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in like every medium they come in but especially the Eastman & Laird comics.

I love just about every genre, but my favorites are alternative rock, synthpop, shoegaze/dreampop, house, ska, and disco.

Some of my all-time favorites are Outer Wilds, the Fallout series, the Wing Commander series, and Diablo II. Lately, I've also been enjoying Marvel Rivals and Balatro.

I love cooking American Southwestern, Chinese, Thai, and Indian foods.

I enjoy a good YouTube essay or tutorial and learning about things like cybersecurity incidents, Cold War history, or true crime.

I'm a huge coffee nerd and collect all sorts of brewing equipment. I've got several different methods at my disposal to get the perfect cup. My other collections include comic books, synthesizers, and kitchen gadgets.

I have ADHD, which my doctor and I manage pretty well these days. My MBTI type is INFJ. While I'm not entirely sure I believe in that stuff, I have to admit the description fits me extremely well. I generally don't really care about sportsball but I do have a soft spot for going to baseball games. I'm a progressive Methodist, who enjoys attending services at our extremely inclusive church on the corner of the city's gayborhood.
